The Public Sector
At L-EV8, we utilise our extensive experience of working with and advising public sector organisations to provide training on all aspects of the requirements and responsibilities involved with being a public sector non-exectuve director.
Our comprehensive training includes covering the UK Code of Conduct for Board Members of Public Bodies - its rules apply to all holders of public office, and breaching the code is deemed to be a breach of the terms of your appointment. It also includes instruction on the Nolan Principles, which apply not just to non-executive directors in the public sector but also to those in the private sector who deliver services to the public sector.
This knowledge is essential for all non-exective directors who have any relationship with the public sector, or who might do so in the future. These frameworks form the foundation of public sector life, and all public sector board members must be aware of their requirements.
Our director Dr Nishant Sood has worked extensively in the public sector, and imparts his wealth of experience in the NHS and with charity work to our delegates.
Nish’s career in the public sector has included roles as an advisor to the boards of universities in the UK and Scandinavia, serving as a non-executive director on the board committees of NHS trusts, and directing Primary Care Trusts and Clinical Commissioning Groups on the transfer of assets and liabilities between the two.
He has also trained public sector boards on regulatory compliance matters such as conflicts of interest, fiduciary duties, authorisations and constitutions, and data protection.
The L-EV8 Foundation Course includes public sector training as one of its Core Modules, making it the perfect choice for any prospective non-executive directors seeking a career in the public sector.
